State police received word of the car burglary early Thursday when a resident called to report a purse in the roadway in from of a home on Scuppo Road in Waterbury, Grant said.
Upon arrival, troopers discovered the purse belonged to a woman on Scuppo who told officers that cash and credit cards had also been taken from her vehicle. Her card was used at a store in Thomaston, state police said.
